Head and Neck Reconstruction

Patients from Charlotte and all over North and South Carolina have trusted us to care for their head and neck reconstruction needs. Reconstruction on the head and neck may be necessary due to congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. It often involves removing cancer or a tumor from the head or neck and then reconstructing the area to look as normal as possible. When this is the case, our surgeons regularly work with your dermatologist, Mohs Surgeon, or oncologic surgeon to assist in the reconstruction after tumor removal. When necessary, our surgeons will also perform the removal of the tumor followed by the reconstruction. If your reconstructive needs are related to a trauma you have received, our surgeons will evaluate your needs during the consultation and recommend a treatment plan customized for your functional and aesthetic needs. Reconstructive surgery is generally covered by most health insurance policies, although coverage for specific procedures and levels of coverage vary greatly.
Both Dr. Kara Criswell and Dr. Bryan Criswell regularly perform a wide variety of reconstructive procedures. Our dedicated staff are familiar with the insurance process and our clinical staff are well trained and experienced with all types of reconstructive plastic surgery care. From simple removal of skin cancers and lesions, to more complex reconstruction following an accident or cancer surgery, we will take care of you throughout the entire process.
